DSAI : With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.
Ten days ago DSAI announced that he had a strong, convincing, and formidable majority to form the government. As such, “pada saat ini kerajaan pempinan TSMY telah jatuh”. The last time I checked with friends in K Hell, TSMY’s government “belum jatuh”. TSMY is under siege. Cannons to the right. Cannons to the left… but his path forward, for the present, is without obstacles.
Will this coming week be the week that DSAI anoints himself Perdana Menteri Malaysia? Yes, he has to do it himself because no one else will do so. Tell me who in his right mind, the Agong included, will believe DSAI claim to have a strong, convincing, and formidable majority to form a government? I do not have the patience to go into the details why DSAI will not be PM in this coming week. Suffice for me to say that for a man of his political experience and acumen, why cannot he see that he is di peralatkan (used) by Umno in order to force TSMY’s into a corner and make TSMY call a general election. DSAI took the bait and declared TSMY’s government “telah jatuh”. Like Pak Lah, TSMY is calling DSAI’s bluff and tells Anwar “Show me the money!”.
How is DSAI going to show TSMY the “money”? Maybe he has got Statutory Declaration signed by these MPs declaring their support for a DSAI Government. Huh…SD’s in K Hell are a dime a dozen and not worth the paper they are written on. Can he get the MP’s on a Bus and take them to the Istana Negara to see the King to confirm to the Agong that they did sign the SD…or DSAI might even make them sign another SD in front of the Agong. Huh…the Agong has no time for this kind of shenanigans. And I bet you that none of the MP’s have resigned from Umno, PAS, or any of the political parties they are attached to and joined DSAI in PKR. Too risky for them. So no way can DSAI shows that he has the numbers to form a government when push comes to shove and TSMY tells DSAI to “show me the money!” Even though it seems that Umno is supporting him big time at his third attempt at being PM.
Why will Umno not allow DSAI to be PM? They have seen what TSMY had done during his tenure as PM even though he is beholden to Umno for his position as PM. The incumbent PM has a lot of options at his fingertips to strengthen his position as PM. Umno had hoped that TSMY would cave into DSAI’s threat to take the government away from him and dissolve parliament and call a general election. So far TSMY is holding firm to his position as PM.
What now are Umno’s options. For the time being, Umno will let the status quo remain. TSMY stays as PM while the opposition is further weakened by yet another failed attempt by Anwar to be PM.
Once everything quietens down, the next big thing for TSMY is the budget which is to be tabled in early November. When TSMY tables the budget in parliament, Umno will simply stage a walkout. Budget will fail resulting in automatic dissolution and TSMY kerajaan will “jatuh”. Kan? Next comes the much sought for (by Umno) Genral election!
With an opposition already in tatters and with a now totally discredited DSAI as its leader, who do you think will win the election? I rest my case.
