There’s a lot of clarity in hindsight…so says Julia Hartz…but surely even the blind can see and the deaf can hear, what many of us already know.
We know that Tanjung Piai was a disaster waiting to happen. We all knew that the Maruah Kongress, the LTTE debacle, the Universiti Malaya graduate Wong solo demonstration calling for the resignation of the varsity’s vice-chancellor were all grating our tolerance of what PH was doing in the name of the government. We have had our fill of Ministers like Mazee and Saddiq. The Perak MB is an unmitigated political disaster that only makes us wonder what Tun and PH were thinking about when they appointed this idiot MB of Perak! Zakir Naik was an abominable slur on all Malaysians because nothing could excuse any government giving residence to this person except for the possibility that his presence is needed to fulfill the selfish vested interests of politicians. There was also the protest against Khat writing, the insult to us of non-action by the authorities on the disappearance of Pastor Koh and the other social activists. We watched aghast at the ability of so many robbers, scammers, and corrupt politicians and government servants to still walk freely among us and still have, for their use, their ill-gotten loot. All these issues and more, that troubles us all greatly, culminated invariably in a massive rejection of PH yesterday at Tanjung Piai. Nothing more, nothing less.
Only hubris and/or arrogance will allow Tun and PH to see their defeat at Tanjung Piai in any other way!
Only hubris and arrogance will allow Tun and PH to concoct or conjure some lame rationale or excuses to explain their present predicament: that of a government facing rejection by the very people that only just over a year ago, gave them government.
Only hubris and arrogance will allow Tun and PH to carry on with business as usual.
And so my friends let us watch closely what Tun and PH will do in these coming days. Let us watch what DSAI will do in these coming days. Yes, we are angry. Yes, we are sad and disappointed…but really friends, what are our options? Not much for sure but please guys…think! As I have said before, think what would happen if BN is back after the next PRU. Think about what will happen if someone from PAS is the next DPM. And think guys how will we ever be able to get rid of a BN that will now surely legislate to ensure that they will never ever lose another PRU ever again if they ever gain government again!
