Support grows for Tamil Tigers detainees’ wives on hunger strike
The arrogance and hubris of those in power some times defies an explanation. Do any of those in Pakatan Harapan have any idea of the goodwill they could garner from the Indian community if any of them had taken the trouble of going down Bukit Aman way, stepped out of their air-conditioned chaffered driven cars, met with the wives of those detained under SOSMA, and, in one way or another, extended a few words of sympathy and empathy for them at their plight so close to Diwali? Do any of them have any idea what that gesture would do to their support among the Indian community?
And imagine the goodwill that would go Tun Mahathir’s way if he had the sense and good grace to use his “bijaksana” to find a way to allow those detained to be with their family during Diwali?
But alas arrogance and hubris reside in too many of those who are in political power in Bolehland and has caused the fall of many a leader. And for Tun, all this he has in abundance making him blind and uncaring for the plight of the wives and families of those detainees at a time when they are in most need of sympathy and empathy from the Pakatan Harapan government – a government I am sure, most of them and their families had certainly voted into power at the last PRU.
And Tun, this arrogance, hubris and pride will cost you and PH plenty when the next PRU is upon you.
