Sunday at 10.32 am. Melbourne. 20nth October 2019.
Two years ago, did the likes of Maszlee, Syed Siddiq, Azmi, Mat Sabu, Azizah, Mahyuddin, Gobind Deo, Lim Guan Eng, Sivarasa, Waythamorrthy, Khalid…and of course Tun Mahathir and a few other in Pakatan Harapan…did they ever thought that they could have been in Government today? Not only be in government but, did any of them dared to think that will be Ministers in that government? Did they ever dare to think that they would be earning RM50K ++ a month, be driven around in limousines to work and have security details decide what they can or cannot do? Did they think that they would have their offices in Putrajaya? Today what they utter in the course of doing government are reported far and wide by the mainstream media. They are the lawmakers. They decide how our country will be governed. They decide our fate and the fate of future generations of Malaysians. How life has changed for all of them.
What about us? What about you and me? Has life changed for us?
I am still writing my thoughts from Melbourne. I am still uncertain of my fate if I should decide to go home to K Hell. Will I be a person of interest to PDRM for the things that I write. Will I still be able to write in K Hell as I now write in Melbourne? For a blogger like me, nothing has changed!
What about for you? Has anything changed? Changed for the better not for worse! Are the thoughts that occupy your mind still about corruption, race, and religion? Is your standard of living better under this PH government. Is petrol cheaper? Have the tolls been abolished? Is the Ringgit stronger? Can the Ringgit buy more things for you now than during BN times? Are you earning more money? Are your children being better educated at schools? Do you have MPs and Ministers who have your interest at heart? Does your prime minister still embarrass you?
For those PH leaders who never thought they could ever be in government, what more be Ministers…so much have changed for the better for all fo them. For us all – the ordinary folks who have done so much to put them into government….nothing much has changed. What many of you did to put PH into government must be told again and again lest this PH government loses their sense of balance and direction while they get themselves settled too comfortably in Putrajaya!
And what did we do?
I remembered, a few months before PRU14, sitting at the Blue Chili, a Malaysian Restaurant not too far away from where I lived. I remember how, over coffee, my friends and I plotted, schemed and discussed how we Malaysians, living in Melbourne, can do our part to make change possible in Malaysia. I was going to keep writing. They were actually going to fly back to K Hell and vote! Yes, my friends…they were going to spend their hard-earned money to fly back to K Hell and cast their votes to try and make a difference in PRU14. I know that many thousands of Malaysians overseas did the very same thing that we in Melbourne did. They went home to cast their votes to put PH into government.
Last night I spoke to another Malaysian. She is a teacher whose passion was to educate young Malaysians to grow up to be decent and responsible Malaysians. In the lead up to PRU 14, whatever reserves of goodwill she had earned by being a good teacher to her students during her years as a teacher, she now used by asking the parents to NOT vote Barisan Nasional. And the grateful parents who knew of no other way to thank the teacher for the education she had given their children, listened to the teacher and did not vote BN.
We can all recall moments that we knew did make a difference in the outcome of PRU14. This morning. I reflected on the sum of what we all did to throw BN out of government. And you know what guys? I wonder if these guys who are now doing government in Putrajaya because of what we did to put them into government…….I wonder if these guys understand that it was us that put them into government. And we who put them in government can also take them out of government! Just reflect on that thought guys. Reflect and resolve to never again allow those bastards in Putrajaya to forget that in the end, they will have to face us all before we decide if they will again be in government after the next PRU….and that thought alone is enough to make my Sunday a better one! I hope it will also make your Sunday a bit better knowing that together, we can and will keep these bastards honest!
