For as long as I care to remember, we have been lied to by politicians as if their lives depend on it. If truth be told, it does! Their political lives that is!
What is unfolding in the courts today about the manner that Najib Razak conducted government, tells us that truth is stranger than fiction. This was a prime minister who was lost in greed and avarice and sure of his ability to indulge in his obsession, aided and abetted by a wife similarly obsessed. Their lives were spent in thieving and robbing our national coffers out of billions of the rakyat ringgits to fuel that greed and avarice. Today, in court, brick by brick, the prosecution is building up the walls that will soon imprison Najib and Rosmah in a manner that nobody of their “pedigree” and “status” could have ever contemplated even in the blink of an eye. A son of Tun Razak and his wife spending time behind bars for being common thieves? Surely his surviving mother, Toh Puan Rahah could speak to Tun Mahathir and work out a pardon….a settlement…maybe even ask Tun to close one eye to what has been done by Najib, her son?
At another time, in another era before PRU 13…that might have been possible. Tunku was not flawless, neither was Tun Razak. Tun Mahathir has given us cause to question his personal failings during his tenure in office but such failings were more in the manner that he chooses to do things for King and country, rather than in allowing his personal foibles come in the way of doing government. There were reasons enough to question Abdullah Badawi’s tenure as prime minister but his intentions were good, though …hasrat di hati hendak peluk gunung, apakan daya tangan tak sampai.
But this Najib Razak gave none of us any çause to doubt his intentions. Pure greed. Pure evil. Stupidity to the max. All done oblivious of the ramifications that will surely come his way when political power is lost and others sit in judgment of what he has done during his tenure as prime minister. How anyone would be that stupid would be for the Gods to explain but today nothing in his pedigree nor his past life will save him from himself….and every day in more ways than any one of us could ever imagine…he compounds that stupidity over and over again in excruciating detail.
And now we are witness to a Pakatan Harapan government whose Ministers, from the Prime Minister down, will soon have their day in the sun when the next general election comes in fewer years than they may want to count. Today they hide behind the mandate we have given them to govern us. Already the Minister of Education is proving himself to be a Dunggu. He is without doubt, at par with the likes of Mat Mazlan, with that baboon from Kinabatangan and a few other monkeys from the Barisan Nasional era. Inexperience and a lack of political acumen do not excuse sheer stupidity. Surely he must understand that education must serve Malaysia and Malaysians? He may forget this but we certainly will remember this failing of his come in the next PRU. He will surely be a one-term minister in, maybe, a one-term government? I think so because the Rakyat are no longer forgiving nor forgetful that “One Malaysia” was, still and shall always be the battle cry at any future PRU!
The novelty of anything but Umno is wearing off. There has been time enough for Pakatan Harapan to get their act together and if they have not done so by now, then the offending Pakatan Harapan operative must be culled. Tar and feathered even! From the top down.
Today too many of us have started to turn against the old man. No, he has not made many mistakes. No, he has not broken his many promises to us. We should all by now understand that whatever Tun does, he does so with intent aforethought. If he breaks any promises to us it is because in the making of that promise to us, he already knows what he will do to advance his cause. Not age, not the nation nor the people cause, will make Tun Mahathir do anything different. Did anyone of you doubt that Tun will divide and rule Pakatan Harapan to his advantage? Did any of you doubt that when the time comes, he will weaken DAP in any way he can? If that means he has to pit Kit Siang against LGE…he will do so. As for PKR…when they themselves have presented their neck for slaughter to Tun Mahathir, what do you think that old man will choose to do? Huh! Too easy!
All that you and I must do is simply this. Do not let anger diminish your ability to think. Do not let race or religion cloud those judgments. If you do, then you are no better then those bigots who are blinded by their own circumstance. My physical distance and my own beliefs are enough to enable me to keep my sanity in the face of all these madness but for those of you who are surrounded, in every way, by these circumstances….it will be hard to maintain your sanity but you must try.
I have many friends out there. Many in Facebook. Many more through my steadyaku47 blog. I and my friends…you and me…”Kita/Us”…we have changed everything in PRU14. We are all part of that amazing event. We all have love and affection for each other and..dare I say it….we will look after each other. This must now be the basis of our lives – to care and look out for each other. We share a simple and common belief…our country and our people first. Woe betides anyone else that thinks different. You are with us or against us. That “YOU” includes any Pakatan Harapan politicians, any politician in the opposition…and of course, that includes Anwar and Mahathir.
We move forward towards PRU 14 together for together we can keep those political bastards honest. So do not think I am anti-Anwar or anti-anything or anti-anybody. My country and my people first! And I really do not care a damm if you are Malay, Chinese, Indian, Dayak, Kadazan or anything else. I do not care a damm if you are a Catholic, a Hindu, an Athiest, a Jain, a Buddhist a Baptist a Jew or even a Muslim. What I care about is simply this: Are you good enough for purpose…and that purpose is “One Malaysia”.
I am growing old and tired. I have decided that I will make Australia my home now. I will take up Australian Citizenship and live here to my dying days for my dear wife is buried here in Melbourne. Nothing will take me away from her. Say what you will of my decision to do so…just understand this….we all…all of us…will have our own lives to live. Live it as you will, given the circumstances you find yourselves in. Give a helping hand to others who are in need. Always look out for each other, be kind to one another…..and to all Malaysians everywhere…let us try to leave Malaysia a better place than the one we have lived in.
