cakap cakap – LIFE.
I still have memories of what I will do with my life once I can do what I want to do….when I grow up! No, I did not want to be a Doctor, a Fireman, or a Pilot. None of the above. All that I can ever remember of any ambitions that I had in life was to do one thing. Live life as I wish it to be. And that at various times of my life meant different things. All things must pass and have passed and I am content with my past
Today I am 73…what of life now? I am in a good place though it is hard to explain to anybody how being an exile in a place far from my place of birth and blogging can be enough for me who has lived in London, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Bombay, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and almost every state in Malaysia bar Terengganu and Malacca.
I am out of breath just ticking off the places that I have lived in my past life. And now for the past six years, I am a Melbournian living on the fringe of the city. So how can blogging be enough?
Let me explain. It is now 10.43 am in Melbourne. I have done two postings on steadyaku47 this morning and have had 1949 (One thousand nine hundred and forty-nine) visitors to steadyaku47 so far. Not too great a number but not too bad kan?
It is a good feeling to know that people from Australia, Singapore, United States, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Thailand, and Malaysia have visited this blog site at this time of the morning. And not to mention Special Branch and the other authorities in Malaysia who are also monitoring this blog kan?
To all of them, Selamat Pagi. And greetings to those guys in Special Branch…FYI, my old man was once HSB (Head of Special Branch) in Penang in the early 60’s.
So we are all family here!I am not being flippant about watching the government watch me. No Sir I am not. This is all par for the course for bloggers doing their thing in countries where the government of the day do things they should not and want nobody to know that they are doing those things! But I digress. This is about me, not them.
Today I, me and myself do not have any idea what we are going to do except to live life and live it well. Live it well not to your expectations but to mine. Do you have any idea how uplifting that thought is?
I have a decent roof over my head, decent things in the fridge and in the pantry to make a decent meal when I need nourishment and many hours still left in the day to do as I like. If that is not a good life (at least for me) then I do not know what is. And I live in Melbourne – one of the world’s most liveable cities. Don’t take my word for this, check it out yourself here:

So life is good. The only stress I do feel this past week can be attributed to the decision we made to upgrade the format of steadyaku47 to a Magazine format. We do this because WE want to give YOU guys a reason to keep clicking for our site. It does involve more work, effort, and a team of guys to make this possible, but not a problem.
The operative word here is “ WE WANT”…we want to do this. When you want to do something, all good things happen to make it possible. There is now Team ST47. We work together to make steadyaky47 current, relevant, and fun to visit and we hope you guys agree with what we are doing. If you do not, tell us please.
Enough of myself and steadyaku47. Got to check my messages and see what YOU guys are complaining about this morning. The last unpleasant message we got was this comment about an article we wrote “Malays and Muslim, two of a kind. Corrupt & Arrogant.” …and the comment?
From Wee Han “I wonder who your writing are for and what purposes it served. Are they for the non Malays, so that we can feel happier and validated what we already knew. For the country to change, it is the average Malays that need to be convinced not the non-Malays. Obliviously the average Malays are not going to read your writings especially when it is written in English. Maybe you should spend some time thinking about your target audiences”
No, I did not reply to Wee Han’s comment. I am not in the business of making non-Malays happy by what I write nor do I worry about who reads or does not read what I write. The last time I checked at 11.29 am, we had 59, 902 clicks on that article alone. So maybe I do agree with Wee Han but if 59,902 (and counting) people have read the article then I think I have done my job. Enough said.
Ok guys, thanks for reading what I write. Live life well and be nice to one another.
