DSAI : Audacity, more audacity, always audacity!
Two weeks before he made the bid to oust TSMY as Prime Minister, DSAI moved to his new palatial home at Sungai Long.
Yesterday when he had his audience with the YDPA to inform his Majesty that he had a formidable, convincing majority among parliamentarians to enable him to govern in his own right, he arrived in a Jaguar.
Really brother Anwar …do you not have someone to advise you on Public Relations? To advise you on what you should and should not do when you are making a bid for the top job in the country while the country is battling the COVID 19 pandemic and its Rakyat are suffering much economic and physical hardship?
And what is with that newly minted online Media that is gushing in its praise and support for you? Even if they are your “friends” should you not “suggest” to them that they be more subtle in their praise for you lest they upset those who might be trying to decide where their loyalties lie in these trying times.
All this, brother Anwar, and more is not doing you any good in your bid to come across as a responsible, accountable PM in waiting endowed with humility, empathy, and sympathy for the very people that you intend to be a leader of!
And really brother, trying to take over any government during a full-blown pandemic is really not the thing to do kan? Would not the sensible thing to do be to wait until we are at the tail end of the Pandemic before you begin that long march to Putrajaya? Though I am sure brother you would not have overlooked Sun Tzu’s advise “In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.” Yes, of course, there is an opportunity but surely those opportunities should not be seized if it makes you beholden to others for your political survival….as TSMY is now finding out to his costs.
This is your third Quizxotic tilt at the top job. Please brother…a little truth would help us take your words without that proverbial grain of salt! Did you or did you not give that “LIST” to the YDPA? And what was in that list? Just numbers and no names? The least we had expected you to do was to give a list to the YDPA with numbers and names, and then at a Media conference immediately after the audience with the YDPA, you put the contents of that list into the public domain…as you said you would do. But you did not!
If, for whatever reason, Anwar did not submit the list with numbers and names to the YDPA …what does that say about Anwar? Anwar does not trust the King to keep the list confidential kan? Because he is worried that once the list is leaked to certain quarters, then the buying and selling of political kataks will begin in earnest. And given the almost unfathomable depths of Umno’s deep deep pockets, our brother will die standing…kan? Maybe his fears are real…but it does not say much of Anwar’s trust in the King!
Anyway these are just my rantings and musings about what has happened in these last few days. The beat goes on! I just hope brother Anwar will stop marching to the beats of those who only have their own vested interest at heart…NOT Anwar’s interest. I hope that in the coming days Anwar will be able to manage the juggernaut that he has inexplicably launched. The juggernaut that will not, as he had expected, take him to Putrajaya, but the juggernaut that will overcome his own ill-timed and ill-thought off attempts to again try to be PM of Malaysia.
Obama talked about the Audacity of Hope…an audacity that he transcended and used to this advantage on his way to the White House. I hope that DSAI understands that he is now in a “must-win” situation …failure is not an option. At this very moment in time, DSAI “must-win” situation seems to be weakening by the hour. It does not look too good for him. Enough said.
