Selamat Pagi Malaysia.

This morning I want to speak about Anwar Ibrahim but first a caveat. Anwar and I are friends. We have been friends from the time we were classmates in Form Four Arts One in MCKK and I hope we still are friends at 72 to be able to greet each other civilly as friends are wont to do when they meet. I have visited his house a number of times, been offered coffee and meals when appropriate. Met with Azizah a number of times but I doubt she will remember me because I am one of those faceless individuals who turn up in her life from time to time. To be truthful I never ever remember having had a conversation of any worth with Azizah during all those years that I have known Anwar. Nurul too I have met and talked with a number of times and the last conversation I remembered having with her was just after Anwar’s release from detention during Abang Lah’s time. I remember telling her to be there for her father at all times because, knowing Anwar as I do, I told Nurrul that her father would have need of her presence to be there for him and to be there with him when times are not too good. All in all, I can say that I know Anwar well. So what do I want to speak about Anwar this morning?

I have many things I want to tell him but life has put us in two different trajectories. He was once, many years back the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia. Today many decades later, he is once again the de-facto Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia – not in name yet, but surely that is who one is if one is the individual who has been designated to be Prime Minister of Malaysia. As for me I live in Melbourne, am retired and from time to time do write about things I care about in steadyaku47. One of the things I care about is that Anwar Ibrahim does not become Prime Minister of Malaysia. And so even as life has put us in two different trajectories, life it would seem, have trusted us into trajectories that seem to be on a collision course. He wants to be PM. I do not want him to be PM. So what are friends who are on a collision course to do?

I do not know what Anwar will do but I will continue to do what I always do on matters that concern’s me. I write about it. I have been writing about it for quite some time now. The reasons why I do not want Anwar to be PM has been laid out too many times in the articles I have posted in my steadyaku47 blog and steadyaku47 Facebook many times and I am not going to repeat them here ad nauseam. So what will I say this morning about this matter that has toxically consumed so many of us in Bolehland ever since PH won government in the last general election?  This is what I want to say to Anwar…..

Anwar your time in politics is up. For sure there are many thousands of your supporters out there willing to do anything to make you PM. For sure there is still PKR, or what is left of PKR that still wants you to lead PKR and be Malaysian’s next PM. For sure there are enough people in important positions, business people with lots of money to finance your tilt at the position of PM, and for sure, so everyone tells me, you have been promised the position of PM. For sure Anwar all this are not mirages – they do exist and you can at the drop of your hat, skillfully manage and organize them into a potent “reformasi” like movement to support your quest to be PM. All this and more you can do but brader Anwar….just stop and think for a while.

Think for the many many individuals who do not want you to be PM. Think of those who were once your peers and still are your peers today who will do all they can to prevent you from being PM. Think also of all those people who are now with you who want you to be PM at all costs. Who are for you and who is against you in your quest to be PM? Surely it does not an Einstien to work these things out? Surely you know by now that vested interest drives those who are for and against you! For your peers who are against your tilt (again) at being PM, their agenda is simply this: they know enough about you to not want to have you as PM because of what this blessed country of ours will descend to once you are ever the PM of it. Enough said.

And for those who want you to be PM they too know enough about you to know that if and when you ever become PM, they too will have their vested interest taken care of by you. And brother Anwar, you of all people, understand the dynamics of these two groups of people! And you are unashamedly and deliberately playing to both of these two vastly different crowds to advantage your own personal agenda – that of being the next PM of Malaysia. But you also know that as each day passes without you being made PM, the chances of you being PM diminishes exponentially. Yes brother, exponentially because you are yourself shooting yourself in your own foot every day that you persist in wanting to be PM when this nation and the people that really matter in this nation, do not want you as their PM! And so the stage is set for this wretched country of ours to once again be at the mercy of politicians who care for nothing else but of their own personal agendas.

Brother Anwar, there has been nothing that you have done since you have been pardoned to do politics again, that tells me and many others, that you understand what is expected of you to become PM. Nothing! From the pardon, you sought to allow you to be fast-tracked into politics again, to the manner you choose to enter politics again (that “arrangement” that allowed you to contest in Port Dickson) and of course, the public descend of PKR into the laughing stock of politics in Malayasia (a hard act to follow given that PKR was once the largest block within PH) – and everything else in between…it as been vintage Anwar over and over again…always what matters to Anwar Ibrahim is Anwar Ibrahim. Really brother when will you start to understand that the Internet cuts every one of us to the bone if we try to be what we are not! And brother Anwar you are not PM material because we know everything that you have done in the past, present and potentially what you will do in the future if you were ever PM. Ask your peers why they are so much against you being PM. Ask yourself why so many of your once trusted and loyal friends are now working hard to prevent you from being PM and Anwar, go stand in front of the mirror and really ask yourself…DO I DESERVE TO BE PM? And brother if you are truly and brutally honest with yourself, you know as well as I and many others know, we all know that your time to be PM is truly over. It was truly over when Tun Dr. Mahathir first dismissed you as DPM…and in case you have not noticed Anwar….that same man is now again standing in your way to ever become PM. So tell me Anwar, you think you can get pass Tun? Enough said.
