Politics is the art of the impossible. And when you are Tun Dr. Mahathir, the art of the impossible keeps moving its goal post on a need basis. What Tun Mahathir needs to tell us simply is this: Whose needs Tun? Yours or the nations? I am not a student of politics. Hell, I look at politics the same way I need to drive – to get from point A to point B. At 72 I would rather be in the back seat of my car being driven to where it is that I want to go. I look at politics because, in Malaysia, politics is so “in your face” elephant in the room, that to ignore politics and those who more than earn a living from it (they also become rich, insanely rich from politics)…as I was saying, to ignore politics and those who indulge in it, is akin to walking in the rain without an umbrella. You get wet. In Malaysia, if you ignore politics you will soon be thrown under the bus and left to fend for yourself. So reluctantly let us together look at politics semasa because as a blogger, I want to be relevant
Tun Dr, Mahathir does politics on his own terms. He writes the rules, interprets the rules and is judge, jury, and executioner to anyone who doubts his ability to do as he pleases. Tun has superpowers. My hope is that Tun will use his superpower more for good than for evil. First thing first. Does he want Anwar to be prime minister after him? Simple answer? NO!. Tun, more than anyone of us, knows what Anwar has done, is doing and will do if Anwar becomes PM. Anwar too knows this. Everything else is Wayang Kulit….shadow play. What alliances, what compromise whatever Tun needs to do to ensure he will continue to be PM until he wants to step down, is now a work in progress. Long story short 2020 will see the emergence of a stronger and more in control Tun Mahathir who at 94, is literally, at the top of his game in politics. Umno and PAS, or large chunks of these political entities will be with Tun in his latest endeavors. Everything else that falls by the wayside is collateral damage, not worth, in as far as Tun is concerned, not worth a second look. At 94 Tun no longer sweat the small stuff. What matters is that he move forward towards making Malaysia and it’s politics, into his own image. And what does Tun wants to be done? Here I am in unfamiliar waters as there has been a lot of water under the bridge since Tun was last PM under Umno but I would say “wanting what is best for Malaysian and Malaysia” would be a safe guess. The devils are in the details because we all have our thoughts on what is “best for Malaysia and Malaysians” but I have enough trust in Tun to do what is right. He will be PM until he is ready to go. All the best Tun.
What about Najib Razak? Tell me, has anyone of you ever seen a Prime Minister this stupid? Yes, bring in all those heads of states from any of those third world countries or the middle east…come on…name any other political leader you can think of. Will any of these leaders be so stupid as to allow someone like Jho Low plunders billions out of your own country coffers? Of course not, these leaders will take those billions for themselves! They will not allow anyone else to do it. But Najib did! Even with all those advisors when he was PM this idiot was unable to understand that the hole he was digging for himself through his corrupt ways was just too big to be covered up even when he was PM! Everyone, from his wife down, not only took him for a fool but also played him for a fool. Generations from now, the only thing people will remember of Tun Razak is that he had a son call Najib who was able, with the help of Rosmah, to bring Umno down to its knees. As for Rosmah…what would I give to be able to be in court to watch this former Fat Lady of Malaysia (FLOM) be made to understand that without her husband, she is nothing. Zilch. Zero. Kosong. Nada. Rosmah was nothing when Najib was PM but she then had her henpecked husband running around like a headless chicken pandering to her whims and fancies. Today we see her for what she is: a vain, fat lady of Malaysia who is starting to understand that karma is a bitch.
