Kimanis and what comes now!

We have lost the battle for Kimanis but there is still time for us to win the war. The war can still be won from the lessons learned in Kimanis and the other by-election defeats. The war can still be won when this Pakatan Harapan government understands that hubris and arrogance are best left by the wayside when contemplating the coming of a general election not too far away. When that realization comes is moot for none are so blind as those who have eyes but do not see, those who listen but do not hear and those whom God has given brains, but do not think! At this point in time, Pakatan Harapan is all this and maybe…just maybe a bit more… for you will have to also throw in arrogance, a lack of self-awareness and hubris. Is this the same government we installed in Putrajaya, not more than two years back?

The rakyat is waiting to be led. Some are there for the glory of Ketuanan Melayu and for Islam. Some are waiting to be saved by Jesus Christ but the majority of Malaysians are simply seeking a way to earn a decent living, a good education for their children and a future that can promise them better times than the ones they are now living through. It is this vast majority of Malaysians that anyone wanting to lead Malaysians into the next decade must take note of. For lack of such a leader, we see around us the beginning of what is to come as once again, we allow the politics of race and religion to dominate our lives.

Let me rephrase that again. We do not lack such a leader. We have such a leader in Tun Dr. Mahathir who took us from the stark possibility of another kleptocratic BN government to the reality of having a Pakatan Harapan government in Putrajaya. Instead of hyping the excesses of the past BN government – the last decade under Najib Razak who has brought into our consciousness and that of the whole world, a new low in how political power can be used and abused – Pakatan Harapan chose to do government the best way it can and build our nation from the ground up from the ashes left behind by Najib Razak, Rosmah and their band of thieves and robbers. For this, you need to thank Tun Dr. Mahathir, a political animal whose instincts have been honed to almost perfection at the age of 94. He provided the leadership that took us to victory at the last PRU. From then on, drawing on his strength and sheer personal presence, he put together a government that begun the task of nation-building. All this he did without regard for anything else but what is good for our people and our nation. And now what has become of Pakatan Harapan?

PH is now being wrecked asunder from within by Anwar Ibrahim. Let me not mince words here. This is a man who has everything to be grateful for. EVERYTHING. He is a man who has abused all that has been given to him. Political power, the trust of many friends and family and now in spite of his sordid past, he has been given again, on a plate, the post of PM. How has he conducted himself since the first act of redemption accorded to him by us and the leaders who won the election from Barisan Nasional? The act of granting him a pardon for his misdeeds? Instead of being grateful for his present lot, he has taken it upon himself to try and take for himself the PM post again before Tun Dr. Mahathir, and before you and I are ready to allow him to be PM. And for that arrogance and lack of hindsight and hubris, he has cause PH to lose focus on nation-building. Instead, we are again confronted by the specter of an Anwar Ibrahim who thinks himself fit to be PM of a nation that surely will not survive any time with Anwar as its leader!  The reasons for me saying that Anwar Ibrahim is unfit to be PM are many. I will not bore you guys with the same lists, but this much I will say. Do not wish too much for Anwar to succeed in his present caper to lead PH. He has failed PKR, he has failed his many friends and family and now he will fail himself when he again takes on Tun Dr. Mahathir in his quest to be King again. As I said yesterday, Tun Dr. Mahathir eats people like Anwar for breakfast! So go ahead Anwar and unleash your pathetic running dogs on that 94-year-old man but be mindful of one thing bro…this time when you fail, tiada maaf bagi mu!
